Welcome to healing hearts jewelry designs

I believe that art should be fun and/or meaningful to the person who buys it as well as the artist who creates it. For me the fun is in the doing and trying new things. I get bored easily and have a minor rebellious streak. So things are not often repeated. Trying things that “won’t work” is the most fun. Sometimes I succeed and sometimes I fail. Only successes will be seen here.

As an artist, I have worked with many different media over the years. For the past 6 to 8 years my focus has been on glass--fusing, slumping, and combining it with fine silver, sterling silver and copper.

With these elements I create jewelry, tiles, bowls and other lovely forms. For me glass is fascinating. The possibilities of combination and shape seem endless. Combining it with bent and hammered wire to create beautiful little works of art to wear is fun and satisfying.

I have begun experimenting with recycling bottles, discarded copper wire and scraps of glass from other projects. The combining of different types of glass is not supposed to work. However, I am having success with it in jewelry sized pieces.

Any piece that is or has a heart included in it is part of my Healing Heart project. 50% of all sales of Healing Hearts go to battered shelters.

At present this site contains only jewelry, but keep checking. I will be adding tiles, bowls and other fun things soon.

Over the years, I have participated in galleries and exhibitions across the country. I have taught classes in fused jewelry and quilting. Presently my work is exhibited in Indianapolis, IN at the Art Bank, and the Ceramic Dreams Studio. In Zionsville, IN I have shown at the CCA gallery.
